Amid the global wave of artificial intelligence reshaping the fashion industry, Fu Jen Catholic University has taken proactive steps to collaborate with leading technology brands NVIDIA, MSI, and Inventec’s VRSTATE platform. Together, they are building an AI-driven ecosystem for fashion design education and creative innovation, ushering in a new era for AI-powered fashion education in Taiwan.

As early as 2022, Fu Jen Catholic University established the first “NVIDIA Studio x MSI Collaboration Space” in Northern Taiwan in partnership with NVIDIA and MSI. The space introduced creator laptops and platform devices certified by NVIDIA Studio, integrating them into the creative curricula of the Department of Applied Arts and the Department of Textiles and Apparel Design. This initiative has successfully helped students transform their inspirations into tangible works while improving color accuracy and rendering efficiency. The collaboration has already yielded rich results, laying a solid foundation for future development. With support from NVIDIA GPUs and MSI computers, senior students majoring in applied arts have demonstrated exceptional performance in animation. Among this year’s finalists at the 2025 Fashow Creative Awards are three projects: By My Side, 争鲜恐后 (Fresh Rush), and 粗芯大意 (Rough Core).

Since 2024, Fu Jen Catholic University has further deepened its collaboration with Inventec’s VRSTATE platform to advance AI applications in fashion design and expand students' opportunities in both virtual and physical markets. The partnership aims to build a practice-oriented environment from creativity to commercialization, promoting educational equity and responsible consumption. Starting from the 114 academic year, the Department of Textiles and Apparel Design will introduce a core course titled "AI Fashion", where students will utilize generative AI tools (e.g., Newarc.ai) for rapid design ideation and work with 3D digital prototyping software (e.g., CLO3D and Browzwear) to build fabric and pattern databases. This approach enables digital creation, reduces resource waste, and supports sustainable design practices. Through continuous collaboration, including cross-disciplinary teaching, professional workshops, motion capture site visits, and on-campus and off-campus competitions, the program is expected to train over 30 AI fashion specialists annually. It covers a full curriculum from 2D design generation, 3D garment modeling, virtual fitting, digital fashion shows, to online platform display and commercialization. As part of this effort, more than 60 high-fidelity 3D fashion design collections are expected to be created each year. In the future, selected student works will be showcased and sold digitally on Inventec’s VRSTATE platform, bringing design from the classroom directly to the market.

To cultivate next-generation designers capable of integrating AI with fashion, Fu Jen’s College of Textiles and Apparel has also actively collaborated with the VRSTATE platform to digitize the cheongsams preserved in the Chinese Costume Culture Center. Advanced AI technologies are being used for interactive design applications. Looking ahead, the college will continue to upgrade AI-based fashion education, empowering students to shine on the international stage and showcase Taiwan's creativity and design potential to the world.

Fu Jen Catholic University President Dr. Blue Yi-Zen stated that the university is committed to advancing campus-wide AI adoption, cross-disciplinary integration, talent cultivation, and innovative research, while strengthening industry-academia collaborations. These efforts embody the educational vision of "Technology × Creativity × Sustainability" and drive the campus toward intelligent and international development. The in-depth collaboration with NVIDIA, MSI, and Inventec’s VRSTATE marks a significant milestone in Fu Jen’s digital transformation journey.
